ASICS GEL-Foundation 9 builds upon the features of the ASICS GEL-Foundation 8 with an updated look. It is a maximum support running shoe for overpronators who not only require a secure fit, but also enough cushioning and support during those long runs. When a particular running shoe model is already working well for runners, running shoe manufacturers do not tend to want to change that model too much. And by looking at the outsole, we can see that ASICS did not want to change the ASICS GEL-Foundation too much when going from version 8 to 9.
Looking at the midsoles now, we can again see that DuoMax is still present on the medial side to provide pronation control on both the ASICS GEL-Foundation 9 and the ASICS GEL-Foundation 8. The placement is the same from heel to just past the midfoot, so again, there are no differences in the amount of motion control you should expect from the ASICS GEL-Foundation 9 compared to the ASICS GEL-Foundation 8.
