The Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6 is Mizuno’s top end stability running shoe. They have gone all out in giving this shoe all the technologies Mizuno has. This shoe is formidable shoe with so many features that it’s hard to get them all listed here.
Wondering how this is different from the Mizuno Wave Inspire 6 and the Mizuno Wave Nexus 4 ? Well simply put the Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6 addresses people who require more cushioning and support. Heavier runners and those who have less experience will want this instead of those shoes. It weighs quite a bit more than the Inspire and Nexus because it is meant to protect you more.
Probably the most noticeable feature of this show is Mizuno’s Wave plate that called Composite Double Fan Wave. The length of the plate makes it a dominating feature in this busy shoe. This plate gives it an extremely smooth ride from heel strike to toe off.
On the medial side the wave is a lot more substantial. This is because it is meant to combat mild to moderate overpronation. If you turn the shoe over you will see how many things Mizuno put on here. Notable are the Sensor Points lining up the inner side of the sole. This are connected to the wave plate on the mid sole. Its use is to give the shoe somewhat of a dynamic pronation control feedback system. It works well according to its testers.

High Country Running: Happy Feet
As a professional runner on Team USA Arizona and a prior University of Minnesota athlete, I faced running-related injuries throughout my years of training and competition.
Different athletes have different weaknesses. For some it's the hips, others the knees. My injuries were all confined to my feet.
It all started with the dreaded plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately there's no single remedy, but many small treatments can help. Heating/icing, golf-ball rolling, night-splints (or Staussburg Sock), toe scrunching exercises and massage can all work magic. High-stability shoes and orthotics help, too. I used all these tricks and eventually attained happy feet.
Since that time, I remained in high stability shoes and rigid orthotics for precautionary purposes. I was known as the "clunky-shoe" girl who carried her orthotics everywhere -- putting them in dress-shoes, and even shoving them in racing flats for competition.
Things were all well and good for a while. However, years of training in orthotics and highly structured shoes literally enclosed my feet in "protection bubbles." My feet didn't have to work! They had the rigid arch support holding them in place, the extreme cushion, the whole bit. Running on feet that don't have to move, shift, pronate or supinate on their own eventually leaves you with weak feet.
What other brands make a nice alternative to Mizuno's stability running shoes?
I've always worn Mizuno shoes, but the price is killer; What is a cheaper but just as good alternative? It MUST be a stability shoe!
I've been fitted and I know I need a stability shoe, and I've just been buying the same shoe for years.
