How often do you buy new ballet slippers?
I started ballet 5 months ago. I have one, 45 minute class a week (YES, I know its not a lot!), and I practice in my actual ballet slippers for about 3 hours a week (I practice mostly barefoot/in socks). Ive noticed that the inside sole of my shoes has started to come off, so I super glued it down with Krazy Glue, and it seems fine.
When the woman at the dance store fitted me for them I dont think she did a good job. There is a gap between the back of the shoe and my foot large enough for my pointer finger to fit in, and there is some extra material at the sides of the shoes. I didnt know what to look for when I got them and they seemed ok so I bought them. They are Bloch shoes, which Ive read are for wide feet, but my feet arent wide.
We dont have tons of money to throw around, and although they dont fit great, they still do the job. How often do you get new ballet slippers? Should I get new ones?
Best AnswerIf your feet are still growing frequently then they shouldnt wear out befrore they are too small but if your feet have stopped growing then I would expect decent quality shoes to last 12 18 months with the sort of usage you are talking about.
