Here's your chance! A piece of movie magic is for sale on Ebay -- one of the ruby slippers made for "The Wizard of Oz ." At least seven pair were made for the film and you can see one pair that appeared in the movie on display at the Smithsonian Museum of American History. (In the book, they were silver slippers, but red shows up better on film.)
Now's your chance to have one for your own collection. It's just one shoe, so you won't be able to try clicking your heels together to see if they will take you home. Oh, and you'll need $3 million, plus another $500 for shipping costs.
If you buy it, let me know!

London - Fans of the The Wizard Of Oz have long been enchanted by Dorothy’s ruby slippers - when she clicked them together three times, they returned her safely home to Kansas.
Now modern-day technology has bought us closer to the real thing: designer Dominic Wilcox has created shoes with GPS (global positioning system) technology which send the wearer in the direction of home.
They have an inbuilt compass and flashing arrows in the left shoe to guide the wearer, and the right shoe has a gauge to measure how far the walker still has to go.
Before setting off, the shoes must be synced to a computer and the wearer’s home address typed in.
Wilcox, originally from Sunderland, says: “When I decided to make shoes that can lead you home, I thought about the Wizard Of Oz and how Dorothy could simply click her shoes.”
He hopes the shoes will soon be available in shops - and that wearers will express their gratitude to Dorothy by shouting “there’s no place like home!” as they set off after a night out. - Daily Mail

My mother and I both remember seeing a version of "The Wizard of Oz" where Dorothy wakes up in kansas and everyone comes and tries to convince her it was a dream. But at the very end before the credits roll, she takes the blanket off and she's
