Police report
Cops: Armed man impersonating officer arrested
WEST HAVEN -- Police say a New Britain man impersonated a police officer and tried to gain access to the VA Hospital in West Haven.
According to police, Gordon Brooks , 34, dressed as an officer, tried to enter the hospital to meet with an unnamed doctor on Wednesday.
Hospital protocol requires law enforcement agents to turn their weapons into the VA police, along with their ID. Brooks showed the officer a loaded .40 caliber handgun, along with an ID and badge that said he was a criminal investigator for the Army.
The officer was suspicious because the ID didn't have credentials. The officer checked the ID and looked for a Connecticut pistol permit under Brooks' name and found he had neither.
The check also showed Brooks had numerous felony and misdemeanor charges out of Virginia and Florida.
He was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation of a police officer, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying without a permit and breach of peace in the second degree.
Does anybody run in Brooks sneakers? What's your opinion?
I've tried Beasts and Adrenaline series shoes. The Adrenalines didn't hold up very well, though I'm tough on shoes. I like the Beasts.
I have been satisfied, but not blown away by them. New Balance and Asics seem to suit me better.
